Learning from the Best: Tremaine and Acrobatic Arts

Tremaine Dance Convention - Dallas Texas

Our first Tremaine Convention was a huge success. Thirty years ago the one and only Joe Tremaine was my teacher at this same convention. I am so thrilled I got to share this experience I cherished from my childhood with our dancers.

We entered the convention with lots of enthusiasm: our seniors did an amazing job and got to try a lot of new styles. We would end the day with "roses and thorns," where the girls loved sharing their favorite part of the day with each other along with lots of laughter. Major kudos to our Rebekah Wilson who made it through the first cuts for the scholarship competition at Tremaine. We are so proud of all her hard work and are blessed to have such a great example for our younger dancers to look up to.

We can't believe the convention is over! Overall, I am very proud of everyone's hard work and positive attitudes. Thanks parents for giving your daughters this opportunity; it was truly a joy to get to share in the memories with them.

Mark your calendars for June 30- July 2, 2016. Straight Up Dance is gonna rock the Dallas Tremaine Convention!!!!!

Certification Program in Canada for Acrobatic Arts

Miss Annie's is now a certified studio in Acrobatic Arts!!!

I traveled to Canada to complete my certification for Acro Level 1 with Acrobatic Arts in Calgary. Acrobatic dance has been gaining popularity in recent years due to the high visibility of groups such as Cirque du Soleil. Acrobatic Arts trains teachers around the globe in their Acro technique which is designed to promote a progressive approach to create dancers who are stronger, more flexible and fearless.

We are proud to be an Acrobatic Arts Certified Studio, and I can't wait to offer this new technique to the young dancers of Del Rio!
