Grace is ecstatic to be sharing her love of dance again!! Grace is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah where she began dancing at the age of three. She received training in ballet, pointe, tap and jazz. She was an officer for her High School Dance Company and choreographed the high school musical Annie Get Your Gun her senior year. A highlight of her dancing experience was training and performing with the professional company Ballet West in their production of The Nutcracker multiple times.
After graduation she taught dance at Salt Lake Dance Center for 6 years. She taught Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Pointe and loved helping her students discover their passion for dance. Grace attended Westminster College where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. She has worked as a nurse in occupational health, medical-surgical nursing, international aid and emergency room nursing. She works locally as a Registered Nurse.
Mrs. Ashlee McKittrick is our newest dance teacher at Miss Annie's. She is teaching the Master's Level I Ballet and a Hip-Hop class this spring. Ashlee McKittrick has a passion for Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and glorifying Him through dance.
She has been dancing for 17 years, with Tanza Performing Arts Studio as her starting point. It was there that she was trained in ballet, tap, and modern under Susan Moser. Later on while at the Miami Valley Ballet Theater, under the instruction of Kevin Bell, she performed in many Nutcrackers and other ballets such as Copellia and Cinderella. Following that, Ashlee started training at The Dance Company under Elizabeth Eckhoff, Michelle Walker-Glenn and several other instructors, studying Musical Theater, Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Hip-Hop, Acro, and Lyrical.
While at The Dance Company, Ashlee performed for many years in the Company's spring performances and achieved one of her goals of getting to dance the bluebird pointe solo from Sleeping Beauty.
Ashlee has enjoyed performing in a number of dance competitions as one of the teams dance captains. Her Teaching experience began there, where she realized her passion for helping students learn and grow as dancers. In January 2014 she started teaching at the Christian Dance Academy in Florence KY. She has also performed with the Greater Hamilton Civic Theater. Ashlee loves working with kids! In her spare time she volunteers in her church nursery. Teaching dance is one of her dream jobs that she feels blessed to have!
Beginning at the age of 5, Alyssa danced with Georga's School of Dance (now Miss Annie's Straight Up Dance) for 13 years. During this time, she trained with a multitude of teachers in tap, jazz, and ballet
Outside of the studio, Alyssa received ballet instruction both on and off pointe and attended a variety of workshops in San Antonio, Texas. She always had a passion for dance and expanding her knowledge and was always in search of new classes and opportunities to advance her skills and keep her on her toes. In the past two years, Alyssa has taken classes in hip hop, contemporary jazz and a variety of partner dances, including swing with Naomi Skee. Alyssa's goal as a teacher is to inspire in her students a love for dance just as she was inspired.
Brenna started dancing at the age of 9 at Meg Segreto's Dance Center in Davie, FL. She quickly advanced and was invited to join the studio's Perpetual Motion Dance Company at age 12. The PMDC students took a variety of classes including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and lyrical. The company performed in several local events throughout the year and attended 2 Florida Dance Masters conventions per year.
Through the company, Brenna was also able to experience exclusive experiences such as the Disney Performing Arts On Stage at Walt Disney World and the Rockette Experience at Radio City Music Hall. During her Junior year of high school, Brenna decided to focus only on Ballet which she then took exclusively until the end of her Senior year.
She took a hiatus from dance as she attended the University of Central Florida where she received a Bachelor's in Health Sciences and started on a Master's in Science Education. After a move to Del Rio with her husband for pilot training and the birth of her two children, she is excited to get back into the studio to teach dance.
